On Tuesday the district announced the departure of Alesia Flye, the district’s deputy superintendent for instructional services.
Flye has been named the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction at West Bloomfield Public Schools. Her last day with AAPS is Oct. 18.
“This news certainly represents a tremendous loss to Ann Arbor Public Schools and a wonderful gain for West Bloomfield,” said AAPS Superintendent Dr. Jeanice Swift in a message to district staff.
“The instructional work Alesia has accomplished, alongside our Ann Arbor team, over the previous two years is remarkable. We will work together to stay the course in this important work on behalf of our children and staff.”
“I received an opportunity that will allow me to continue working in a high performing school district while working closer to my home,” Flye shared in a message to staff. “I will certainly miss working side by side with each of you, in providing exceptional instructional programs for the students and families of Ann Arbor Public Schools.”
