Community High School’s jazz musicians performed before a packed crowd at The Ark Monday night, proving yet again that the jazz program under director Jack Wagner lives up to its reputation.
This year’s annual Year End Blowout! at The Ark featured the “Tempus Fugit” Combo recently named “Outstanding Performing Group” in Downbeat Magazine’s 2016 International Student Music Awards Competition. The year before that, the musicians captured second prize. All but one of the musicians graduated last year from CHS, and this was the first time they’d performed together in a year.
Other bands performing Monday were Jazz I; Jazz II; Arborland; Cold Tone Dreamery; Noize ‘R Us; Five Guys, Burners in Ties; Jazz III; and Noodlers and Company.
