Community High School announces 2016 parent/student orientations; application deadline

Five parent and student orientation sessions have been announced for families interested in applying for Community High School’s freshmen slots for school year 2016-2017. The sessions, beginning January 4, 2016, will be held at Community High, 401 North Division Street, Scarlett Middle School, 3300 Lorraine and Clague Middle School, 2616 Nixon Road. The five sessions are scheduled:

Sunday, January 10                           2:00-3:30 PM @ CHS

Tuesday, January 12                          7:00-8:30 PM @ CHS

Tuesday, January 19                          7:00-8:30 PM @ Clague MS

Sunday, January 24                           2:00-3:30 PM @ Scarlett MS

Wednesday, February 3                    7:00-8:30 PM @ CHS

The application deadline is 4 p.m.  Friday, Feb. 5, 2016.  Application packets will be available Jan. 4, 2016 at all Ann Arbor Public Middle Schools, the Balas Administration Building, 2555 South State Street, and Community High School, 401 N. Division Street. Applications may also be downloaded in early January from the website at:

http://www.a2community.org

To be eligible for one of the open freshman slots, applicants must be current 8th graders, meet the district’s residency requirements at the time of application, attend a required orientation meeting with parent/guardian, and submit a completed application to the Main Office, CHS, by 4:00 PM Friday, February 5, 2016.  The school’s random selection will be held on Feb. 9, 2016.
