Community High Jazz musicians take home honors from Western Michigan University Jazz Invitational

The Community High Jazz combos “Supernova” and “A2 Blue” were selected as two of the five winning combos at the Western Michigan University Jazz Invitational on Saturday. Supernova took the top spot of the entire festival and was chosen to open the big evening concert. Supernova’s members are: Adlai Reinhart, Eddie Codrington, Henry Pakela, Erez Levin, Adam Olszewski, and Alex Meingast. A2 Blue’s members are Jacob Johnson, Brandon Cutler, Oren Levin, Ross Johnson, and Deondrae Jones. Over thirty jazz bands (combos and big bands) participated at the 33rd annual event.

Individual citations were given to several CHS performers for “outstanding contributions to his or her combo.” Here are the winners of these individual awards from the six CHS combos that competed:
