Bach Elementary School’s Family Reading Night on March 22 drew hundreds of students and their families for some good old-fashioned story time. The kids (and many of their teachers and parents) cuddled up in their pajamas and listened to a variety of stories in a variety of languages.

Stories were offered in French, Spanish, Japanese, German and American Sign Language. The volunteer readers were stationed in classrooms throughout the school to offer an intimate storytelling experience.

One popular session was lead by AAPS Superintendent Dr. Patricia Green. Many students listened intently as Dr. Green read “Dr. De Soto,” a story about a mouse dentist. Dr. Green said she was inspired to bring the story because her husband is a dentist.
