The Ann Arbor PTO Thrift Shop offers 18,000 square feet of bargains on “Resale Row” along Industrial Highway in Ann Arbor. The nonprofit started with a school yard sale at Tappan School in 1994. Proceeds benefit The Ann Arbor Public Schools.

“There’s a lot to learn from growing a garden, and a lot of Ann Arbor’s schools are finding that out,” says Ann Arbor Chronicle gardening columnist Marianne Rzepka. Her Sunday column focuses on three such gardens in Ann Arbor schools.

The Ann Arbor Public Schools has reached a tentative agreement with its teachers union. Members will vote late this week and, if ratified, the pact would go to the school board next week.
