Alumnae Jamie Hibbs (Huron, ’13) and Kelsey Moran (Community, ’13) are organizing a family friendly fundraiser for St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a volunteer-driven charity dedicated to raising money for childhood cancer research. The fundraiser, a St. Baldrick’s signature head-shaving event, will take place at Colonial Lanes in Ann Arbor, MI on August 10. Community members will shave their heads in solidarity with kids with cancer and raise money to Conquer Childhood Cancers!
Please come and enjoy bowling, food, a silent auction, and a head shaving event! The event starts at 5 pm and goes until 8. Tickets are $20 for two hours of bowling, pizza and unlimited soft drinks. Don’t like bowling? There will also be a silent auction from 5-7 featuring donations from community members and businesses! The head shaving event will directly follow the bowling and silent auction. Why all the shaved heads? Worldwide a child is diagnosed with cancer every three minutes, and one in five children diagnosed in the U.S. will not survive. With only 4 percent of all federal cancer research funding dedicated to pediatric cancer research, St. Baldrick’s Foundation volunteers, supporters and donors are needed to continue the battle against this devastating disease.
