AAPS Announces New Executive Director of Finance

The Ann Arbor Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Jill Minnick in the position of Executive Director of Finance for the Ann Arbor Public Schools.  Ms. Minnick is replacing Ms. Nancy Hoover who has accepted a position with another school district.

Ms. Minnick comes to Ann Arbor from the Whitmore Lake Public Schools where she served as the Executive Director of Business Services for the past six years.  Her responsibilities include managing the day-to-day operations of the business office, i.e., accounting, payroll, accounts payable and purchasing, along with the district-level operations, i.e., budgets, tax levies, external audits as well as overseeing compliance with local, state, and federal laws and Board of Education policies. Ms. Minnick will report to Mr. Marios Demetriou, Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations.

Ms. Minnick’s experience includes working for two other Michigan school districts, Oak Park and St. Clair Shores as well as for a district in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.  She also has experience as an auditor at the state level as she served as the Assistant Auditor General for the State of Michigan.

Ms. Minnick earned her Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University and her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Michigan State University.  She holds professional certification as a Certified Public Accountant, registered in the State of Michigan, and is a Nationally Certified Internal Auditor.  She is a member of the Michigan School Business Officials (MSBO) and has earned its certification status as a Chief Financial Officer.
