Informational meetings this month at four Washtenaw County public  libraries will give parents the chance to learn what Ann Arbor Public Schools’ A2 Virtual has to offer.

The new online legislation impacts learning for all students, regardless of where they seek education: private, parochial, home, or any public district.

Parents now have the option to enroll students, in grades 5-12, in online courses to personalize learning for their child. This flexibility allows students to accommodate a learning preference, recover credit, seek additional or advanced coursework, solve a scheduling problem, or use when a student will be out of school for an extended period of time.

This informative sessions will cover the new legislation, requirements for school districts, and how to find classes through the state catalog. Parents will learn how to review the catalog for pertinent information, course syllabi, and standards. Also presented will be strategies for success when taking online courses.

Although Ann Arbor Public Schools offer many online classes, the presentation will cover general information regarding all online opportunities.

Library presentation nights and times are:

Saline District Library, Thursday, Jan. 15, 6:30 pm

Chelsea District Library, Thursday, Jan. 22, 6 p.m.

Ann Arbor District Library, Traverwood branch, Monday, Jan. 26, 6 p.m.

Dexter District Library, Thursday, Jan. 29th, 6 p.m.
