Ann Arbor Public Schools will host its 32nd annual College Fair from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, at Pioneer High School.
The event is open to all students and all families in surrounding counties, and offers the chance to connect with representative from two-year and four-year colleges and universities. Free college planning material is available, as well.
As part of this year’s fair, the AAPS Counseling Outreach Series will sponsor breakout sessions during the fair to help families with college financial and academic questions. The sessions will be held in the Pioneer High School Career Center adjacent to the fair.

6 to 6:30 p.m. How Do We Pay for College? – Kristen M. Roy and Tricia M. Nelson

6:30 to 7 p.m. What is “Pre-Med” Really? — Jennifer Nemecek
For the past 25 years, Jennifer Nemecek has worked in various positions in university advising and administration at Georgetown and Brandeis Universities, the University of Notre Dame and the University of Michigan. She has worked as an international admissions counselor, study abroad advisor and director, an assistant dean and pre-health advisor. At Notre Dame, Nemecek served as the major advisor for all arts and letters pre-health majors, advised students on course selection, wrote comprehensive university committee letters to medical schools, advised students on medical school selection, and advised students on how to articulate their talents and motivation for medicine on their medical school application. She now owns Newport Premedical Consulting, LLC and provides customized application support for medical school applicants no matter what stage they are in the process. 7 to 7:30 p.m. What is “Pre-Law” Really? — Kadija Deen
U-M J.D. Grad and Pre-Law Advisor, Kadija Deen’s advising philosophy empowers students to make informed decisions about their academic and professional goals. She believes it is also important to provide students with complete information about the professional market, particularly those considering investing in a legal education. After surviving the Hunger Games (some prefer the term “law school”), she clerked for a year at the University of Michigan’s Student Legal Services. She served as the coordinating assistant for the 2014 CSP Summer Bridge Program. and later joined Newnan as a pre-law advisor.
